Biography

Jayantha Liyanagamage (JAY) was born and grew up in a suburban village, Wennawatta  in  Kolonnawa Electorate,  Western Province in Sri Lanka. THE KELANI (River) which is the widest River in the country goes thru the village Wennawatta giving the tranquility mindset to the people in the area.  

Edwin Liyanagamage who hailed from Bethmegedara in Ruwanwella had migrated to Colombo at his teenage to seek a job in the city. He found his bride Anula Wimalaseeli Perera at the boarding house where he occupied.  JAY was born in 16 December 1960 where both Edwin and Anula were thrilled to welcome their first child. JAY got 2 younger brothers Priyantha (1963) and Wasantha (1967).

JAY found his ever-loving partner Janaki in the same hamlet during their school days and the nuptial knot was tied in 1983 accordingly to Buddhist Traditions. The Two J’s have now a son two daughters. Son Madhawa – Girls Yasendra & Mindula are educating at Buddhist Ladies’ College – Colombo 7.

JAY is attached to Expolanka in 1987 and today serves as the Regional Director of UCL Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd. Which is a subsidiary of Expolanka Group.

Being the first Sri Lanka to hold the prestigious post as President of Global Alliance Integrated Network (www.gain-group.com) and Universal Freight Management Group (www.ufmag.com) Jay created the history.
